Agreements and Check-Ins
Group Agreements

The Facilitator reads the group agreements out loud and participants say "YES". (A participant can excuse themselves if they are unable to agree with each statement.)

Am I willing to:

  • Hold confidentiality?
  • See others in positive regard?
  • Refrain from commenting or giving advice?
  • Be an engaged listener, focusing solely on the speaker?
  • Verbally acknowledge another's work?

If a participant struggles or gets stuck, other members can say "Keep going" or ask "Will another Cue help?"

Core Qualities

Members take a moment to write down some positive qualities they are willing to be during this session. Then each member reads their qualities aloud.

Example: "I am willing to be focused, vulnerable, brave, grateful, and fun." Other common options are "open," "compassionate," "aware," and "present."

Use some of these qualities or make a short list of your own.

5-Minute Check-Ins

This check-in helps us reconnect with each other before going deeper into personal work. Each person takes 5 minutes. The Timer starts the countdown and reminds each speaker when they have 1 minute remaining.

Cue Box Sessions
Facilitator Instructions

Each member gets up to 15 minutes to work out loud with the box. When the speaker starts, the Timer starts the countdown and signals when there are 5 minutes remaining and 2 minutes remaining.

This is the speaker's time to work out loud in a safe space uninterrupted, without comments or advice from others. If the speaker has difficulty, other members may encourage a speaker by saying "You're doing good," "Keep going," or "Will another cue help?"

When the speaker reaches Question 6, the Facilitator asks the speaker for details about when and how the speaker will start their action plan or keep looking, what support they will need. Then each member of the group verbally acknowledges the speaker's work, and commits to provide any support that was offered.

(Reminder: Cue Box meetings are not therapy, coaching, or recovery programs - and group members are not therapists or coaches. Speakers are encouraged to obtain outside services when needed.)
